Some of these opportunities are self-paced, while others occur at a specific point in time. LET'S TALK ABOUT LEADERSHIP PODCAST


Student Leadership & Involvement has a podcast! We regularly sit down (virtually) with a campus partner, someone in the community, or leaders across the country for conversations about leadership. These conversations are great ways for students to engage with leadership, reflect, and consider the different ways in which leadership presents itself, and the variety of ways to fine-tune leadership skills. Episode 1: Leading in Times of Uncertainty: A Conversation with Lauren Weitzman PH.D.

What does leadership looks like during times of crisis? How do we (as leaders), navigate the process of leading others when we ourselves may be scared or uncertain about the crisis we are in? I'm Erica Andersen, Director of Student Leadership & Involvement at the University of Utah, in this episode, I interview Lauren Weitzman, PH.D., Director of the Counseling Center at the University of Utah. Together, we explore these questions and discuss strategies for how to lead during times of uncertainty, how we practice care (for ourselves and others) while leading in a crisis, and more.

Episode 2: Anti-Racism Poetry as a tool for Leadership, Advocacy, Activism and Social Change

This episode features a conversation with Utah's Poet Laureate, Paisley Rekdal. We explore some of the many incredible poets who have used anti-racism poetry as a leadership tool in the fight for racial justice. We discuss the intersectionality of anti-racist poetry, highlight poets of Black and Indigenous communities, and think about how poetry can be used as a tool to interrogate policy, systems of oppression, and more.

Episode 3: The Art of Storytelling, Empathy, and Leadership

This episode features a conversation with Filmmaker, Producer, and Editor, Fernando Lara. We explore storytelling through art (and video medium) and the intersection with leadership and the power of finding one's voice.
