Meet the Team
The Student Leadership & Involvement team is here to help students navigate leadership and involvement opportunities on campus, while empowering them to reach their full potential. Some members of the team are focused on serving the Recognized Student Organization community, and some are dedicated to growing leadership development programs. The entire team works together to provide a holistic experience for students engaging with leadership and involvement at the University of Utah.
Cassie Zamora-Cathcart
Director of Student Leadership and InvolvementCassie Zamora-Cathcart (she, her, hers, ella) serves as Director of the Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) at the University of Utah. Cassie has served students at the U since 2021 in various roles and offices. In her current role, Cassie works with her amazing SLI team to ensure that all students at the U can find their passion, people, and purpose during their academic journeys here, and in all their post-graduation endeavors.
Cassie is a proud 5th generation Tejana who is proud to serve as a orgullosa y podersoa (proud and powerful) Latina leader on campus. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Conservation Biology from Cal Poly Humboldt, and her Master of Science in College Student Affairs with an emphasis on Conflict Analysis & Resolution from Nova Southeastern University. Cassie is a proud sister of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated and the Greek Lettered organization community where she continues to serve in leadership roles within her siblinghood as well as advising the Alpha Chi chapter of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. here at the U. In her free time Cassie loves spending time with her wife, Karina, and their two fur babies Oreo and Demi, spending time in the outdoors, and/or reading.

Leadership Development ManagerAnna Nguyen was born and raised in Taylorsville and earned a BS in Health, Society, and Policy from the University of Utah. She's heavily involved in many Asian community organizations in Utah, especially with the Utah Asian Festival and OCA Asian Pacific Islander American Advocates Utah. You can also find her supporting locally owned small businesses and restaurants as an unofficial #foodie, hiking, or bundled up binge watching the latest anime or Netflix shows and films. She is looking forward to work along students and student organizations to build upon their leadership goals and skills through engaging workshops, training, and overall programming.

Associate Director of SLI, Recognized Student OrganizationsAllie Menzdorf is a proud University of Utah undergraduate alum and holds a Master of Science in Curriculum Instruction & Professional Program Design from Western Governors University. She thrives on working with students to build programs and trainings that align with their learning goals and objectives. At home, Allie shares life with her two guinea pigs, Rory and Remy, and her lovable puggle named Lily—who’s always nearby during Zoom calls and planning sessions. Allie is excited to collaborate with Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) to develop meaningful training, foster a safe and positive learning environment, and connect more students to leadership and involvement opportunities across campus.

Avarose Norman
Student Involvement AmbassadorAvarose is a business major at the University of Utah with a sharp eye for style and a love for exploring new trends. When she’s not hitting the books, you’ll likely find her at the mall browsing fresh looks or hanging out in her favorite campus spot—the CSAR office.
Her favorite color is pink (of course!), and she’s never far from a bag of Trader Joe’s spicy chips—the ones in the iconic pink and green bag. As a Student Involvement Ambassador, she can help connect you to involvement and leadership opportunities on campus!

Student Involvement AmbassadorIsaac is a Student Involvement Ambassador in the Office of Student Leadership & Involvement, where he meets with students to help them discover leadership opportunities and get connected to campus involvement. He’s majoring in Quantitative Analysis of Markets and Organizations (QAMO) with a minor in Political Science, combining analytical thinking with a passion for civic engagement. Outside of class, Isaac enjoys staying active—whether it’s playing basketball, flag football, or hiking Utah’s scenic trails. His favorite campus spot is the Marriott Library, and his go-to snack is a handful of Skittles. His favorite color is red, which fits his energetic and team-oriented personality. Isaac is excited to support students in finding their place on campus and making the most of their college experience.
