As we conclude our week-long celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we are reminded of the importance of a collective voice against racism, bigotry, and hate. In the past couple of days, stickers from a national hate group were found on our campus – reported, removed and openly discussed with student groups. While our campus is an open forum where individuals may express their views, the rhetoric used by this group does not align with or reflect the University of Utah’s values. We want to use this incident to encourage our community to engage in respectful dialogue that enables us to work together and learn, grow, innovate, challenge and build a better future. Note that stickers can be removed immediately when they are discovered, and sending information about the location and date (and a photo, if possible) to the Office of the Dean of Students and/or the Office of Equity and Diversity will help the campus respond and monitor for others. Please note the message from the University President regarding this incident:
