This University Rule has been developed to explain the University’s recognition process and to clearly establish, define, and formalize the relationship shared between recognized student organizations and the University of Utah.

Rule 6-401B: Student Organization Violations of Law or Policy
This rule describes the process for withdrawing recognition of a Recognized Student Organization that violates a University regulation, a state or federal law, or a local ordinance.

RSO Classifications
Each recognized student organization shall be classified as an organization that is either “sponsored”, “affiliated”, or “registered.” SLI determines this classification by assessing the student organization's relationship to the university, the scope of its activities, and the perceived potential risk to participants and the University. Bystander Intervention Training

Funding Proposals Through ASUU
Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) in good standing with the department of Student Leadership & Involvement may apply for supplemental funding from ASUU.
